Anchors Aweigh!

So it's been awhile since our last update, but we have a lot of fresh content that we're gonna unload in the next few days so stay tuned! In today's installment I'm gonna talk about Anchor tats. The anchor was first popularized  by American sailors during WWII and most of the sailors who sported anchor pieces were very experienced. As traditional work continues to see a resurgence the symbol of an anchor has come to represent stability, love, devotion, and dedication.

Our friends Jessica and James came to us to get matching Anchor tattoos together :) Very cute.
Here are two more that Adrian has done recently.

From concept to creation...

Here's the sketch of my pyramid/all-seeing eye tattoo along with the final product... Adrian and Bekka collaborated on the concept before the final sketch was produced. This is with out a doubt one of my favorite tattoos, I'm lucky to have it on me! -Christopher

Radiohead Ink: Fitter. Happier. Tatted.

What would music be like without Radiohead? I love the whole Brit-Pop thing that was going on in the 90's but instead of imitating their peers Radiohead decided to go their own way and create truly original music that has connected with millions of people worldwide. They're also one of the best bands to see live around today, bar-none. Their imagery and associated artwork also provides for a wealth of tattoo concepts for the die-hard fan. Here are two Radiohead tattoos that Adrian has done so far... - Christopher

Calavera y Rosas!

Lip Service

I have a pretty decent amount of ink on me at this point and STILL don't think I would be down for one of these... I'm weird about mouth pain/injuries I guess is the best way I can describe it? - Christopher

May The Force Be With You...

Star Wars fascinated and thrilled me when I was a child with it's rich mythology, colorful characters, brilliant action sequences, and EPIC soundtrack (yeah, I listen to classical music, what?). I recently re-watched the original trilogy as an adult and was sucked right back in. There's something about a small group of good Rebels facing up against a massive evil Empire that really hits home for me... George Lucas knows what's up. Maybe I'll get something Star Wars related someday too (I think my homie Miguel needs one first though ha ha) - Christopher

Empire and Rebel symbols... Notice how the symbol for the Empire is mechanical in appearance while the Rebel symbol resembles a rising Phoenix

I've Got Butterflies...

The Times They Are A-Changin'

So anyone who knows me knows that I'm a HUGE Bob Dylan fan/dork. My last car didn't have any speakers in it so I bought one of those harmonica rack things and taught myself to play instead. I'll talk your ear off about this guy. I figured it was about time I got some ink to show my dedication to the man's craft. I wanted something that would visually represent "Time Changing" but thought that a clock or watch would be too obvious so we came up with this hour glass design instead.

I love the roses, which I see as being sort of "english style" or more of an "overhead" view of a rose.
Here is the finished result at three different angles:

This brings me to my next point: We need a better camera! Get at us if you're willing to trade for work.
Also, LISTEN TO BOB DYLAN! - Christopher

1987 Was A Good Year!

Good lord, it's easy to forget just HOW FUCKING SEXY Madonna used too be... - Christopher

Girls Love Hello Kitty!

In 1974 a Japanese designer named Yuko Shimizu designed the character and it made it's first apperance in the states in 1976. The Hello Kitty trademark has since spread globally and developed licensing arrangements worth more than $10 to $500 billion annually. No surprise then that Hello Kitty themed tattoos would be popular considering the versatility of such a simple (and, yes, very cute) design. Here are two Hello Kitty tats that Adrian has done.

I'd love to get ahold of this girl, it seems she lives in the LA area. blndsundoll4mj, get at us! We will give you a Hello Kitty tat fo free! - Christopher

Bang Galore.

Bang Galore Tattoo is an independent art studio, that consists of Adrian Allen, Chris Diers, and special guest artists from time to time. The shop name comes from Allen's time in the service where he was a Combat Engineer Sgt. in the United States Army. A bangalore is a type of explosive torpedo used for breaching obstacles on the battlefield.
Bang Galore also collaborates with artists in other communities to host/sponsor tattoo parties in which various musicians, vintage clothing and accessories vendors, and artists can get together in one forum and display/sell art and network.
